Sweet Iron bits are made of blue 'sweet iron' steel and release a sweet tasting surface rust through contact with saliva. The stimulates the horse's saliva production in a natural way.
The sweet surface rust is a design function of the bit and will cause the horse to foam more resulting in better acceptance of the bit.
